Established in 1854, High Street Chapel (HSC), Hopton is all about helping people find and follow Jesus Christ. We are ordinary people brought together by an extraordinary God who has revealed His love to us in Jesus Christ. Through Him we discover our purpose and meaning in this life and in the life to come. We’re excited about the freedom we’ve found in Jesus to be able to overcome anything that life throws at us. We couldn’t agree more with what one Christian wrote nearly 2000 years ago:

‘It’s in Jesus that we find out who we are and what we’re living for.’

Our aim is to provide a space where anyone can come, as they are, to find and follow Jesus. Our heart can be summed up with these words:

 

To all who are weary and in need of rest,

to all who mourn and long for comfort,

to all who feel lost and worthless and wonder if God even cares,

to all who fall and desire victory,

to all who sin and need a Saviour,

to all who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

and to whoever else will come,

this church opens wide her doors and offers welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ:

the friend of sinners,

the lover of his enemies,

the defender of the weak, and

the justifier of those who have no excuses left!
